Area baseball teams headed to spring tournaments

By Matt Porter

Relax over spring break? Not for these teams.

Several local baseball squads will hit the road next week for a little tournament action.

The top three teams in the area – No. 1 Palm Beach Central, No. 2 West Boca and No. 3 Wellington – are driving across State Road 70 (or SR 80 to I-75) to the Sarasota Baseball Classic. They’ll play in the Elite Bracket of the tournament.

Also making the trip: No. 7 Dwyer, No. 9 American Heritage, King’s Academy and Royal Palm Beach, who will play in the Premier Bracket. Tournament results will be on PBGametime.com and SarasotaBaseballClassic.com.

Elsewhere, No. 10 Trinity Christian and Benjamin will head to Orlando for the Sunshine Classic tournament, and Palm Beach Gardens has lined up a trip to Gainesville. Full schedule is below.
