He received an invite to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, joining Boynton Beach offensive tackle Jessamen Dunker, who received an invite Wednesday.

Young, a first-team Palm Beach Post All-Area selection last year, has a long list of verbal offers including Florida, Florida State, Miami, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, N.C. State, Michigan, Marshall, South Carolina and West Virginia.

Of note, Young has packed some more muscle onto his frame this offseason. “He’s up to 290-something,” Palm Beach Gardens coach Chris Davis said. “Looks good.”

Due in part to Gardens finishing construction of its new weight room, Young ran a lot before last season and his playing weight was between 270 and 280 pounds. He graded out at 86.7 percent for the season.
