Benjamin alum Conner Kempe suspended from Dartmouth football team

By Jeff Greer

The Valley News, a daily newspaper covering southern Vermont and New Hampshire, reported Tuesday that Benjamin grad Conner Kempe has been indefinitely suspended from the Dartmouth football team.

Kempe, a 21-year-old junior who started every game in 2010 for Dartmouth, was arrested for marijuana possession and charged with a non-criminal violation by Hanover, N.H., police, the report said. Kempe, who is from Jupiter, is scheduled to appear May 16 in Lebanon, N.H., District Court. The arrest record doesn’t indicate when the alleged violation occurred.

Dartmouth head coach Buddy Teevens declined comment to the Valley News beyond announcing Kempe’s suspension, and athletic director Harry Sheehy was traveling and unavailable for comment yesterday.

George Ostler, the quarterback’s attorney, told the Valley News that Kempe, who turned himself in and was arrested at roughly 3 p.m. yesterday, “has no comment at this time.”
