Palm Beach Lakes’ Hall voted Class 5A Player of the Year

Myeshia Hall was arguably the best player in Palm Beach County girls basketball this season. She’s now in the discussion for best player in the state.

Hall, the Post’s large schools Player of the Year, was selected by the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches as the Class 5A Player of the Year.

A senior at Palm Beach Lakes, Hall is now in the running for the FABC’s Miss Florida Basketball award. Voting will take place this weekend.

Hall, a 5-foot-8 wing who has signed with Old Dominion, averaged 24.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, six assists, 5.2 steals and 2.3 blocks per game in her senior season.

Trinity Christian’s Danielle McCray, the Post’s small schools Player of the Year, finished a close second in the Class 1A voting. McCray, an Ole Miss signee, was named the Florida Dairy Farmers’ Class 1A Player of the Year, an award voted on by coaches and media members.

Dwyer’s 6-foot-5 sophomore center Kai James finished eighth in the Class 5A vote. Boynton Beach junior Taylor Shade finished 13th among Class 4A players, one spot ahead of Lincoln Park Academy sophomore Brandy Montgomery.
