Former Pahokee standout Nu’Keese Richardson now eyeing Delta State

By Matt Porter

From the Post’s Jason Lieser, over at Gator Bytes:

Nukeese Richardson’s long, precipitous journey through college football appears to be heading toward Cleveland, Miss. Richardson, a one-time Florida commit and Tennessee player, intends to sign with Delta State University, a Division II program.

Richardson currently is back in Palm Beach County working on his associate’s degree at Palm Beach State College, but is at least 20 hours away from completing it, his high school coach, Pahokee’s Blaze Thompson, said. He must do so in order to transfer to a Division I program.

He does not need the A.A. to go to a Division II, Division III or NAIA school.

Richardson initially was trying to get into South Florida, Syracuse and Kansas State, but those schools’ interest waned.

“Nu’Keese still has a long way to go to get his AA, so it’s hard to talk to teams about Nu’Keese,” Thompson said. “If he was in a position to be cleared, there would be a number of schools. I wouldn’t say some of the best, but I would say a number of Division I schools would be interested if he was in a position to go.

“I believe Delta State is where he’s planning on going. He hasn’t left yet, so I wouldn’t say it’s solid yet.”
