Park Vista officials ‘unaware of magnitude’ of cheerleader team dispute

By Post Staff

The principal and the athletic director at Park Vista High School were “unaware of the magnitude of the concerns” over the cheerleading team before allegations arose that black students were denied spots on it, Palm Beach County School Superintendent Bill Malone said Thursday.

The school will work with the students to “address those concerns” and develop a plan to move forward, Malone said in a prepared statement.

The principal, Reginald Myers, and the athletic director, Pam Romero, were unavailable for comment.
