Palm Beach Central CB Jhavon Williams commits to UConn

By Jeff Greer

Recent Palm Beach Central transfer Jhavon Williams has verbally committed to UConn, Central coach Rod Harris said Wednesday.

Williams, who transferred to Central from American Heritage this offseason, visited UConn with his mother and “fell in love with it,” Harris said. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound cornerback picked the Huskies over FAU, Marshall, Kentucky, Western Michigan and New Mexico, among others. Dwyer kicker Bobby Puyol also committed to UConn two weeks ago.

Williams is now the second Palm Beach Central class of 2012 player to commit to a BCS program. Receiver Angelo Jean-Louis committed to Miami in April. Williams was a Post All-Area second teamer as a junior.
