Martin County DB Justin Simmons commits to Boston College

By Jeff Greer

Martin County’s star defensive back Justin Simmons liked Boston College’s summer camp so much that he committed to the school before fall practices started. The TCPalm first reported his commitment.

Simmons (6-3, 180) ranks 15th in our updated PBGametime.com Big Board recruiting rankings for the 2012 class. He had 70 tackles and seven interceptions as a junior, according to the TCPalm. He was also a valuable receiver for Martin County, with 15 catches for 390 yards and six touchdowns. He had scholarship offers from FIU, Illinois, Purdue and Western Michigan, among others.

All commitments are nonbinding. The first day players can officially sign with a school is Feb. 1, which is national signing day.
