Hoops: Royal Palm Beach’s Talonzo Edwards, Anthony Woods sign with colleges

By Jeff Greer

Royal Palm Beach’s talented senior forwards have figured out their college plans, Royal Palm coach Drew Quinn said Monday.

Forward Talonzo Edwards, who at 6-foot-6 was a matchup problem at the high school level, will play for Broome Community College in Binghamton, N.Y. His 6-foot-3 frontcourt mate Anthony Woods will play at Division III College of Mount St. Vincent in the Bronx.

Edwards, an All-Area honorable mention as a senior, averaged 12 points and 5.5 rebounds. He was a Palm Beach County All-Conference second teamer for the western division. Woods, an All-Conference first-team choice, averaged 7.5 points and 8 rebounds.

“I’m very proud of the effort and dedication that Talonzo and Anthony have shown at Royal Palm Beach,” Quinn said. “As the only two seniors on a varsity team that played eight sophomores and a freshman last season, they did an outstanding job of leading and mentoring the young players.”
