American Heritage WR Cameron Posey commits to Purdue

By Matt Porter

Cameron Posey hasn’t had much of a chance this year to show what he can do, but Purdue is willing to give him a shot.

Posey (6-2, 185, No. 35 on the Big Board), who visited the school Oct. 2 and committed Monday, has been hampered by a wrist injury suffered in last year’s Class 1A state title game. The injury eventually required surgery, and to this point, Posey has been the Stallions’ punter.

Coach Doug Socha said he expects Posey to return to full-time pass-catching duty Oct. 28 at Cardinal Newman.

When healthy, Posey is a sure-handed, athletic receiver with good size and deceptive speed. As a junior, he caught 16 passes for 266 yards and six touchdowns.

Posey received offers from Illinois, Bowling Green and Western Michigan.
