By Matt Porter
Well, it’s that time of year again.
As most of you know, Jeff and I have a season-long picks contest that we sometimes reference on The Playbook (see this week’s episode). Things are getting heated up: we were both 11-0 last week and Jeff leads me by a razor-thin margin (OK, it’s like three games, but nothing I can’t overcome).
If you’ve been following along, you know that the winner of our picks contest gets to shame the loser in some way.
Last year, I won, so Jeff received a shaved head so gloriously awful he cried at his desk for several hours (fine, I made that up). He did look a little bit like Chad Henne, though, which is shameful enough. Unlike Henne’s Dolphins, Jeff doesn’t lose too often, so I’m up against it if I want to be victorious again.
Now this is where you come in. Last year, the majority of the voters on this forum, on Twitter (@mattyports and @jeffgreer) and on Facebook, and via email wanted to see the loser get his head shaved. That’s an option again this year, but we have a couple other ideas:
— take a pie in the face (possibly from the winner and some players from the team he picks against?)
— perform up-downs (or other conditioning drill, like Atlantic’s ‘Brooks Special’)
— grow a sweet mustache
— of course, get a full head shave.
Vote for your favorite, or, if you don’t like those, suggest your own. Get creative (but family friendly, please) and let’s hear your best punishment for the loser.
Have at it! And may the best man* win.
