The beginning of the early signing period for many non-football sports is Wednesday, Nov. 9. Below is a list of athletes from Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast who will sign a letter of intent next week.

About signing dates

High school seniors can sign national letters of intent, a binding document that states the acceptance of an athletic scholarship to a college, at various times for various sports.

The signing period for football is Feb. 1 through April 1, 2012. Players transferring from a junior college may sign from Dec. 21, 2011 to Jan. 15, 2012.

The signing period for field hockey, soccer, track and field, cross country and men’s water polo is Feb. 1 through Aug. 1, 2012.

The early signing period for basketball is Nov. 9 through Nov. 16. The regular signing period is April 11 through May 16, 2012.

The early signing period for all other sports, including baseball, volleyball, swimming and golf, is Nov. 9 through Nov. 16. The regular signing period for those sports is April 11 through Aug. 1, 2012.
