Report: Kevin Wald steps down as John Carroll football coach

By Jeff Greer

Kevin Wald stepped down as John Carroll’s football coach before the holiday break, the TCPalm reported Tuesday. School officials delayed the announcement of Wald’s decision until after exams and the holiday season.

Wald, 33, told the TCPalm his desire to coach at a public school was the main reason for his decision. He was 11-9 in three seasons as the Rams’ coach. He was a head coach in the Palm Beach County-Treasure Coast All-Star game (the old Outback Bowl) last January.

Wald said he’d applied for several job openings out of state and locally, including the newly open Okeechobee job.
