According to Rivals.com, Glades Central safety Crevon LeBlanc has committed to FAU.
LeBlanc, who visited FAU over the weekend, becomes the sixth area player to commit to the Owls.
FAU appears to be the only official visit LeBlanc has taken.
Neither he nor Glades Central coach Roosevelt Blackmon returned messages from the Post.
A hard-hitting safety, LeBlanc (5-9, 170, No. 19 on the Big Board) had early verbal offers from Marshall and LSU, but it appears those no longer stand. Miami and Florida coaches recruited him during his junior and early senior seasons.
LeBlanc was suspended in November by Glades Central for violating the student conduct code. He sat three playoff games, including the Raiders’ loss to Miami Norland in the Class 5A regional finals.
He was a first-team All-Area pick as a junior, when he was a standout for a dominant Glades Central team, and senior.
FAU now has six area players committed, including American Heritage offensive lineman Arthur Crouse and running back Jeremy Gaskins, Forest Hill receiver Michael Bullard, Fort Pierce Westwood defensive tackle Inuka Rhaheed and Fort Pierce Central linebacker/safety Freedom Whitfield.
Verbal commitments are nonbinding. Wednesday is the first day players may sign scholarship offers.
