Glades Central sends eight players to college

By Matt Porter

Glades Central sent eight players to the next level, including Western Michigan signee Jaime Wilson, perhaps Palm Beach County’s most underrated prospect.

“I’ve heard that a couple of times,” Wilson said. “It just makes you grind harder than you were grinding before.”

Wilson, who had 21 touchdowns and 932 yards on just 54 receptions, will play slot receiver for Western Michigan.

Teammate Dominique Gibson signed with Wake Forest to play linebacker. Crevon LeBlanc signed with FAU to play cornerback. Jatavis Brown signed with Akron to play outside linebacker.

Also signing: quarterback Greg Davis (Bacone), cornerback John Brockman (Point), lineman Tavious Bridges (Shorter) and lineman Isiah Rodriguez (Campbellsville).

Head coach Roosevelt Blackmon expected several others, including linebacker Don’Kevious Johnson and lineman Brandon Rodriguez, to sign in the coming weeks.

Across town, Glades Day’s Steven Williams signed with Mars Hill to play wide receiver.
