Palm Beach Gardens hires Rob Freeman as football coach

By Matt Porter

The new head coach of Palm Beach Gardens is Rob Freeman, defensive coordinator under former coach Chris Davis.

The move was announced to Gardens players Tuesday morning.

Freeman, who ran Davis’ defense for the last three seasons, was an offensive coordinator former coach Kevin Fleury. He held that position when Gardens won a state title in 2005.

Before joining Gardens in 1999, Freeman was an assistant at Santaluces and later, Palm Beach Lakes.

“He’s got a lot of experience,” Davis said of Freeman. “This is going to be great for the program. I’m so happy knowing it’s going to be left with someone who has a high character as Rob.”
