By Matt Porter

In today’s Post you’ll find a nice story by Hal Habib on Mark Richt, who played football at Boca Raton and now coaches football at Georgia.

Richt, who was inducted into the Palm Beach County Sports Hall of Fame on Sunday with nine others, fondly remembered his days at Boca High. Click here to read the story.

Also inducted Sunday were Anquan Boldin, Kevin Butler, Willie Goldsmith Sr., Jessie Hester, Eric Kresser, Rollie Massimino, Cauley Patrick, Fred Ross and Jimmy Spencer.

The Hall of Fame also named winners of its annual awards.

Glades Day running back Kelvin Taylor was named High School Athlete of the Year; Palm Beach Gardens softball coach Randy Jackson was named High School Coach of the Year, Spanish River’s John Jones was named Boys High School Basketball Coach of the Year and Palm Beach Central’s Bruce Gaffney was named Girls High School Basketball Coach of the Year.

Dan Schlager, whose Jupiter Mustangs club won a Pop Warner national championship in December, was named Coach of the Year.
