Grandview Prep star guard Kamil Williams transfers to Palm Beach Lakes

By Jeff Greer

Budding star Kamil Williams became the biggest off-season transfer to date on the high school hoops scene.

Williams, a freshman guard, has left Grandview Prep to enroll at Palm Beach Lakes. He averaged 16.1 points and 4.2 assists a game for Grandview Prep, which made its sixth consecutive state semifinal appearance.

The transfer gives Lakes a very intriguing 2012-13 team, with only shooting guard Bruce Harrison leaving the roster to graduation. The Rams will be small — 6-foot-3 junior Maxwell Caines is Lakes’ only legitimate big man — but the guard-heavy roster is as good as any.
