Football: FHSAA charges Seffner-Armwood with residency violations, could forfeit state title

By Jeff Greer

Seffner-Armwood’s football program is in a heap of trouble.

The Tampa Tribune reported Monday the FHSAA found five instances of Armwood parents falsifying information in order to help their kids attend the school. Armwood, the Class 6A state champion, was 15-0 last season, but the Hawks may have to forfeit that trophy and wins.

The report says the FHSAA has given Armwood 10 business days to disprove the FHSAA investigation’s findings. In addition to forfeiture, Armwood could face serious financial punishments, much like Lakeland and Miami Dr. Krop last year. The Tribune report also says the FHSAA found no evidence of parents or coaches committing recruiting violations.
