By Matt Porter

Eight area players will play in the annual FACA Baseball All-Star Classic games in Sebring this Saturday and Sunday.

Three Park Vista seniors – catcher Robbie Coman, pitcher Brandon Rhodes and shortstop Tyler Kendall – were selected to the rosters, which are divided among North, South, East and West teams.

The East team features Royal Palm Beach outfielder/first baseman Christopher Barr, Martin County catcher/third baseman Danny Hudzina, Forest Hill pitcher Mike Murray, Palm Beach Central first baseman/catcher Brady Roberson, Kendall and Rhodes.

Summit Christian catcher/third baseman John Silviano will play for the West team. Coman will play for the North team.

Also, Bucky Dent Academy catcher Bryan De La Rosa will play for the South team.

Players will report to Sebring on Friday for a weekend of games at Firemen’s Field. More than 100 major-league and national scouts are expected to be in attendance, East team assistant and Spanish River coach Bill Harvey said.
