Football: Two Palm Beach Central seniors commit to colleges

By Jeff Greer

Palm Beach Central’s path-breaking 2011 football season didn’t end with the Broncos’ opening-round playoff loss.

The program, which made its first playoff appearance, is also breaking records off the field. Two Broncos committed to colleges over the past few days, giving Central 10 college-bound seniors from the Class 2012, a school record. Defensive tackle Troy Key will join American Heritage linebacker Silmore Dallaway at St. Joseph’s College, a Division II school in Indiana. Neil Ross, a graduating defensive back, will play for Minnesota West Community College.

Key (6-foot-3, 240 pounds) had 32 tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble last fall. Ross (5-10, 170) had 17 tackles and three pass breakups.
