Lacrosse: Pope John Paul II’s Carter Jara wins U.S. Lacrosse award

By Jeff Greer

Graduating Pope John Paul II senior Carter Jara won the Bob Scott Award last week.

The award, given by each chapter of U.S Lacrosse, recognizes players who “exemplify the fundamentals of the game, always work hard to improve his game, and is a teacher for his teammates both on and off the field.” Jara, who played midfield for Pope John Paul II, already received U.S. Lacrosse All-District and All-Region honors for his 2012 performance, which included 82 ground balls, nine goals and seven assists.
