Hoops: Dwyer’s Joel James makes first cut for US national U-18 team

By Jeff Greer

The USA Basketball under-18 national team trimmed its workout roster from 18 to 14 late last night, and graduating Dwyer center Joel James made the cut.

James, a 6-foot-11 North Carolina signee, is working out with the team in Colorado ahead of its trip next week to Brazil for the FIBA Americas U-18 championship. The team, coached by Florida’s Billy Donovan, will make the trip with 12 players, meaning two more cuts are on the way.
