Boca Raton QB Kevin Anderson commits to Marshall

By Matt Porter

The top quarterback in Palm Beach County, Boca Raton senior Kevin Anderson, has chosen his college.

“WE ARE MARSHALL!!” Anderson posted on his Facebook page Saturday night. “I am officially committed to MARSHALL UNIVERSITY!!!”

Anderson is a 6-2, 200-pound pocket passer. He became Boca Raton’s starter as a sophomore in 2010, taking over for Marshall signee Eddie Sullivan, who is now at Western Carolina.

As a sophomore, Anderson put up 1,342 yards, 11 touchdowns and six interceptions on 86-of-163 passing. As a junior last season, he was 123-of-254 for 1,712 yards (third among large-school quarterbacks), with 11 touchdowns and nine picks.

He impressed at the Brandon Flowers 7-on-7 event earlier this month, showing expert timing and accuracy with his throws.

Anderson had interest from several programs, including Wisconsin, and offers from Jacksonville State and Illinois State.
