MaxPreps: American Heritage second-best small school football team in country

By Jeff Greer

American Heritage started the 2012 fall season with a top-25 ranking in Rivals’ high school football preseason poll. With three days to go before the Stallions’ season-opening kickoff classic on ESPN, they’re back in the national rankings.

MaxPreps ranked Heritage the second-best small-school football team in the nation, behind River Ridge-Curtis, a dominant private school in Louisiana.

Here’s what the national preps sports site says about the Stallions:

2. American Heritage (Delray Beach, Fla.), 12-1
With one of the nation’s top running back recruits in Greg Bryant, American Heritage is one of the top teams in Florida regardless of division. The defending Class 3A state champs return 11 starters with offensive lineman Roderick Johnson joining Bryant in the mix.
