Mireles, a standout athlete at Atlantic who graduated in 2010, said Wednesday he will join Ole Miss in January after graduating from Hinds Community College in Raymond, Miss., at which he is enrolled for a second year.

Mireles was not cleared by the NCAA to play for Ole Miss before signing day 2010.

“It feels good,” Mireles said. “I’m just focused on getting there now.”

If he finishes up his current slate of classes without a problem, Mireles said, he will graduate in December and join Ole Miss for the spring semester.

Mireles, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound receiver, had 45 catches for 700 yards and a touchdown last season. As a senior for Atlantic, he caught 26 passes for 426 yards and four touchdowns. He also ran for 172 yards and a touchdown.

Mireles said Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Purdue and Texas were also recruiting him.
