Video: Derrick Henry’s pregame speech to Yulee before Glades Day game

By Matt Porter

YULEE — Yulee senior running back Derrick Henry is the tallest player on his team, at 6-foot-3, and weighs a rock-solid 240 pounds.

The Alabama commit is clearly the largest presence in the Hornets huddle. Watch as he fires up his team before its 42-6 win over Glades Day on Friday.

“I’ve got a passion for this, man,” he begins. “I do this day in, day out. All night long. This is all I think about. This is all I care about. Y’all are all I care about…”

Henry shouts about the magnitude of the ESPNU-televised game, how they read in the newspaper and on Twitter about Glades Day “talking junk,” and how outsiders may feel those from North Florida can’t play with the teams from South Florida.

“Let’s show ‘em where they’re at,” Henry shouts. “They’re in the country.”

Clearly, Yulee is Henry’s country.
