This afternoon Oxbridge Academy emailed its winter sports schedules to The Post, and one notable name jumped out on the boys basketball docket.

The Thunderwolves’ inaugural coach is Dwayne McClain, a member of Villanova’s 1984-85 NCAA title team. McClain, 49, was most recently an assistant coach at Northwood University under Rollie Massimino, his coach at ‘Nova.

McClain, a Jupiter resident, was hired last year to get Oxbridge’s then-junior varsity program off the ground. The Thunderwolves are playing a varsity schedule for the first time this season.

“A tremendous hire,” Oxbridge Academy Athletics Director Craig Sponsky said. “I’m very fortunate to manage an all-star group of coaches.”

The 6-foot-6 McClain, who spent three years coaching at Northwood, was drafted in the second round (27th overall) in the 1985 NBA Draft. Nicknamed “D-Train,” he played one season with the Indiana Pacers.

Boys basketball preseason games begin the week of Monday, Nov. 12. The regular season begins Monday, Nov. 19.
