Dwyer ranked in USA Today national high school football poll

By Jeff Greer

For most the season, it’s been American Heritage gaining national notoriety, with All-American running back Greg Bryant and his slew of Division I-bound teammates. Tuesday was Dwyer’s turn in the spotlight.

Dwyer (6-0) entered the most prestigious national poll in high school football, ranking 25th in the USA Today High School Sports Super 25 National Football Rankings. The Panthers moved into the Top 25 thanks to a 47-0 win over Santaluces on Friday and losses from four of the previous poll’s ranked teams. Bradenton-Manatee, which eliminated Dwyer from the state playoffs last fall, is the top-rated team, and Orlando-Dr. Phillips ranks 22nd.

Here’s the comment about Dwyer in the poll:

William T. Dwyer High School
Result: DB Anthony Williams scored on a 98-yard interception return and Dwyer held Santaluces (Lantana) to 13 rushing yards in a 47-0 win Friday. Next: Thursday vs. Atlantic (Delray Beach).
