Statewide poll: Atlantic enters the rankings, but not ahead of Dwyer

By Matt Porter

The Post is convinced of Atlantic’s legitimacy, but the apparently state preps writers need to see more.

In the new Associated Press high school football poll, Dwyer moved up one spot to No. 6. However, Atlantic jumped into the rankings no higher than No. 10, despite its resounding wins over both Dwyer and Royal Palm Beach.

Meanwhile, still-unbeaten Fort Pierce Central jumped from fifth to fourth in the 7A poll.

After both teams’ opponents canceled on them, American Heritage and Glades Day kept their places in their respective polls. Heritage stayed at the top of Class 3A, while Glades Day held at No. 3 in Class 2A.

Palm Beach Central received four votes in Class 8A. Seminole Ridge earned one.
