Errick Lowe resigns as Lake Worth football coach

By Matt Porter

After his ninth season at Lake Worth, Errick Lowe resigned as football coach.

Athletics Director Jessie Hester said Lowe gave his resignation Thursday evening. He said a coaching search would soon begin.

Lowe could not immediately be reached for comment.

Lowe, a 1995 graduate of Lake Worth who played at Auburn, went 51-59 with one district title. The Trojans went 1-9 last season.

He had his most success in 2010, winning the program’s first district title since 1986 and first playoff game since 1979.

Hester, who coached Glades Central to a 36-4 record and two state final appearances from 2008-10, said he doesn’t currently consider himself a candidate for the job, but that could change.

“We just want the best candidate, with the best credentials,” Hester said. “I’m certain there will be a lot of great resumes that will come in.”
