Atlantic ATH Brisly Estime commits to Iowa State

By Jeff Greer

Atlantic’s Brisly Estime finally got the point where he’d had enough with the recruiting process.

On Sunday Estime (5-foot-9, 185 pounds, No. 12 on the PBGametime Big Board made a verbal commitment to Iowa State, ending a confusing recruiting process for the talented return man and defensive back. The choice comes a few months after Estime committed and decommitted from Purdue and a month and a half before national signing day hits on Feb. 6. In other words, stay tuned.

It’s unclear what offers still stand for Estime, who saw many of the schools recruiting him experience coaching changes. Purdue, Cincinnati and FIU, among others, all were chasing Estime, who says he still may visit those schools in January.

Estime played a key role for Atlantic this fall after receiving special permission from the FHSAA to play past the state’s age limit for high school athletics. He returned punts and kicks and played receiver and defensive back, scoring five special teams and four receiving touchdowns.
