Dwyer, Palm Beach Gardens to renew football rivalry

By Matt Porter

One of the county’s most intense football rivalries is back on.

After a two-year hiatus, Dwyer and Palm Beach Gardens will play a non-district home-and-away series for the next two years.

This year’s schedule is still in flux, Palm Beach County athletic administrator Yetta Greene said, but several factors point to the Military Trail schools meeting in Weeks 2 or 3.

Glades Central and Dwyer want to play in Week 1. Dwyer’s slate of seven District 13-7A games will be played in Weeks 4-10. That leaves three weeks on Dwyer’s schedule for Gardens, a bye, and Jupiter, which has also agreed to a non-district series.

Fall football schedules must be submitted to the FHSAA by April 1, Greene said.
