Cardinal Newman WR Travis Rudolph to play in Under Armour All-America Game

By Matt Porter

Travis Rudolph will get to play on national television early next year.

The Cardinal Newman junior wide receiver on Tuesday accepted an invite to play in the Under Armour All-America Game, the annual January showcase held at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg and carried live on ESPN.

As some recruits do, Rudolph may choose to announce his college commitment that day. Alabama, which offered him a scholarship last week, is the latest big-name school to try and land him. Rudolph has a long offer list that includes Florida, Florida State, Miami, Georgia, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

He was verbally committed to Miami for much of last year, but last month declared himself open. The ‘Canes are not off Rudolph’s list, according to Cardinal Newman coach Steve Walsh.

Walsh said Rudolph, who turns 18 in September, is packing on strength. According to Walsh, the 6-foot receiver is 188 pounds and he power cleans 275 pounds, the best total on his team.
