Soccer: Sebastian Elney added to U-17 USA team’s CONCACAF Championship roster

Lake Worth native Sebastian Elney has been in the U.S. men’s under-17 soccer residency program for the past few months. Now he’ll travel with the team to the 2013 CONCACAF Championsips.

Elney, a striker who played at American Heritage, is part of the U.S.’s 20-man roster headed to Panama for the regional tournament featuring teams from North and Central America and the Caribbean. It’s the qualification tournament for the U-17 World Cup, which runs Oct. 17 to Nov. 8 in the UAE. The four semifinalists of the CONCACAF Championship go to the World Cup.

The first U.S. game is against Haiti at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
