Seminole Ridge holds on to top spot in state flag football rankings

By Matt Porter

There is plenty of movement underneath Seminole Ridge, but the Hawks are still the state’s top-ranked flag football team by a wide margin.

Ridge (7-0) didn’t budge from the No. 1 spot in Joe Pinkos’ Power Rankings, which are calculated by a formula that weighs schedule strength and margin of victory.

In the last two week, Jupiter (4-1) moved up from No. 18 to No. 9. Palm Beach Central (6-1) dropped out of the top 25 after a 40-0 loss to Ridge on Friday. The Broncos were No. 24 last week.

Tallahassee-Lincoln is this week’s big gainer, jumping from No. 23 to the second overall spot. Lincoln supplanted former No. 2 Orlando-Dr. Phillips, which lost to Seminole Ridge in last year’s state final.
