Pahokee grads Vincent Smith, Martavious Odoms bring H.O.P.E. back to community with art, charity project

Vincent Smith sat in class at the University of Michigan and had an epiphany.

“Hey, I’m pretty good at this,” he thought as he worked on an acrylic painting.

The former Michigan and Pahokee High running back never thought he’d be teaching his new hobby to elementary school kids, though. Smith and ex-teammate Martavious Odoms, who attended both Michigan and Pahokee with Smith, have teamed up to create H.O.P.E. for Pahokee, a charitable organization designed to help Pahokee residents.
