Flag football state tournament moved from Tallahassee to Kissimmee

By Matt Porter

This weekend’s flag football state finals have been shifted from Gene Cox Stadium in Tallahassee to Kissimmee-Osceola High.

An FHSAA spokesperson said a conflict with Florida State’s graduation ceremony — there were not enough hotel rooms available — forced the late change.

In Tuesday’s second-round state play-in, or the state’s sweet 16, top-ranked Seminole Ridge (15-0) will host seventh-ranked Palm Beach Gardens (13-1) at 7 p.m. Atlantic (10-3) will visit Sunrise-Piper.

The state quarterfinals begin Friday at Kissimmee. The semifinals and final will be played on Saturday.
