With signing day just days away, recruiting news is constantly coming in. On the Class of 2014 Recruiting Diary, we have been following this year’s seniors through the fall and winter months. Every interaction we have heard has been recorded on this diary.
We’re posting stuff like this all the time on Twitter (follow @Anthony_Chiang) as we make a mad dash to signing day, Feb. 5, 2014.

2014 Dwyer DL Tim Jackson verbally committed to Wagner College — a school in Staten Island, NY.
2014 Village Academy DE Kevin Bronson verbally committed to Virginia Tech on Saturday, choosing the Hokies over USF and Florida Atlantic. Bronson cited Virginia Tech’s tradition, defensive system and defensive coordinator Bud Foster as the reasons for his decision.
2014 Palm Beach Central OL Alex Coren has verbally committed to Villanova.
2014 Dwyer RB Alonzo Smith switched his verbal commitment from Florida Atlantic to Miami (Ohio) on Saturday. He visited Miami (Ohio) over the weekend, attributing his decision to his relationship with Miami (Ohio) RB coach Autry Denson,
2014 Boynton Beach WR Darrian Josey and Kyron Brown enjoyed their trip to UMass over the weekend. Josey, a Hawaii commit, will choose between Hawaii and UMass. Brown, an Akron commit, will choose between Akron and UMass. Both players will announce their decisions on signing day.
2016 Wellington ATH Ahmonn Richards received an offer from Cincinnati on Monday.
2014 Atlantic WR Adly Enoicy has switched his verbal commitment from FIU to Syracuse over the weekend.
2014 Palm Beach Gardens TE Caleb Perez verbally committed to Rutgers as a preferred walk-on. He chose Rutgers over UCF and Marist.

Two frontrunners to land 2014 Village Academy DE Kevin Bronson are Virginia Tech and USF, according to coach Don Hanna. FAU is the third team in mix with an outside chance. Bronson plans to make his final decision over the weekend, but won’t make it public until signing day.
2015 Palm Beach Gardens received offers from Miami, NC State, Western Michigan, Tennessee and Kentucky this week. Coney said he was impressed by Miami’s campus on his trip there for Junior Day on Sunday. He plans to visit Florida, Miami and Ohio State before his senior season.
Despite rumors that 2014 Cardinal Newman WR Travis Rudolph is considering a visit to Florida, the FSU verbal commit said he is 100 percent committed to the Seminoles and he will not take any more visits.
2014 Boynton Beach WR Darrian Josey, a Hawaii commit, said he was offered by Massachusetts. Josey and Boynton Beach CB Kyron Brown, an Akron commit, will visit UMass this weekend.
Miami head coach Al Golden visited Dwyer and asked about 2015 QB Daniel Parr, 2015 WR Tavares Martin, 2015 DB Jarius Adam, 2016 RB Cornelius Smith.
Miami head coach Al Golden and wide receivers coach Brennan Carroll visited and offered 2016 Wellington ATH Ahmmon Richards. With West Virginia, Tennessee and Miami offers already in hand, Richards has also received interest from Penn State and Virginia.
2014 Dwyer WR Ezra Saffold verbally committed to Northern Illinois.
2014 Dwyer RB Alonzo Smith verbally committed to FAU on Monday night. He is still taking an official visit to Miami (Ohio) over the weekend.
2014 Dwyer ATH Clint Stephens verbally committed to Bowling Green on Thursday. The Falcons plan to use Stephens at cornerback.

2014 Royal Palm Beach Zeke Edmonds, who committed and decommitted from Coastal Carolina this week, is visiting UMass this weekend.
UMass visited 2014 Boynton Beach CB Kyron Brown on Thursday. Brown said they told him they would return on Monday.
2014 Dwyer DL Tim Jackson is fresh off visits to Wagner and Savannah St. But he hasn’t decided on his finalists yet.

2015 Palm Beach Gardens LB Tevon Coney received an offer from Florida on Friday. He plans to visit Florida, which he calls his “dream school,” next weekend. Coney received offers from West Virginia, Ohio State and Florida this week.

2014 Dwyer RB Alonzo Smith is starting to receive interest from Georgia Tech, as the Yellow Jackets stopped by and took Smith’s transcript. He will visit FAU on Jan. 24 and Miami (Ohio) on Jan. 31, according to Panthers coach Jack Daniels.
2014 Dwyer WR Clint Stephens will visit Bowling Green this weekend and Toledo on Jan. 31.
2014 Dwyer S Shawn Boone verbally committed to N.C. State on Thursday, choosing the Wolfpack over Arkansas, Maryland and Penn State.
FSU coach Jimbo Fisher visited Cardinal Newman WR Travis Rudolph, a Seminoles commit, at school and at home Thursday.

Vanderbilt sent new head coach Derek Mason to visit 2014 Village Academy DE Kevin Bronson on Thursday morning. The meeting ended with Mason offering Bronson. Bronson is hoping to visit Vanderbilt next week before his weekend trip to Nebraska. Bronson plans on making his decision public in a ceremony on National Signing Day.
2014 Palm Beach Gardens K Steven Olson verbally committed to Chowan University.
Louisville met with 2014 Boynton Beach CB Kyron Brown on Tuesday. Brown said Syracuse is out of the race for his services, but added that Hawaii is starting to show interest in him.

Alabama TE coach Bobby Williams and Ohio State WR coach Zach Smith visited with 2015 Palm Beach Gardens LB Tevon Coney on Wednesday. Coney received an offer from Ohio State on Wednesday night, and he followed it up by receiving an offer from West Virginia on Thursday.
2014 Atlantic WR Adly Enoicy verbally committed to FIU on Wednesday, choosing the Golden Panthers over schools like Syracuse and Virginia Tech.
2014 Royal Palm Beach LB Zeke Edmonds and DB Jimmy Moreland verbally committed to Coastal Carolina on Wednesday. Edmonds chose the Chanticleers over Middle Tennessee State, Toledo and Northern Illinois, and Moreland picked the Chanticleers over Toledo.
2014 Fort Pierce Central DE Rashawn Shaw verbally commmited to Wake Forest on Wednesday. Shaw decommitted from Louisville after Charlie Strong left the Cardinals.
Boston College visited Seminole Ridge on Thursday to visit with 2015 CB Jalen Young.
2014 Fort Pierce Central LB Sharieff Rhaheed plans to take officials visits to Michigan State this weekend and Louisville next weekend.

2014 Dwyer S Shawn Boone will announce his college on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at Palm Beach Ale House (2161 Palm Beach Lakes Blvd., West Palm Beach). Boone will pick between NC State, Penn State and Arkansas.
2015 St. Andrew’s TE Jake Bargas met with Wake Forest on Tuesday. Bargas already has offers from Duke, FAU, Massachusetts, Tulane and Wake Forest.
2014 West Boca Raton LB Gerald Ferguson received an offer from Robert Morris University.
2014 American Heritage OL Hayden Brockwell received his first offer from Warner University on Thursday night. Wagner, Holy Cross, Furman, Texas State and FAU are showing interest in Brockwell.
2014 Dwyer RB Alonzo Smith has offers from FIU, FAU and Miami (Ohio). But Smith said it’s between FAU and Miami (Ohio) right now. He took an official visit to FIU last weekend.
2014 Royal Palm Beach ATH Alon Sims, a Western Michigan commit, said he is still considering FAU. Sims will visit Western Michigan this week.
According to Village Academy coach Don Hanna, 2014 DE Kevin Bronson will be visited by Notre Dame on Tuesday. Vanderbilt is also expected to visit Bronson this week. As of now, those two schools have not offered Bronson.
2014 King’s Academy K Paul Schumacher verbally committed to Gardner-Webb on Sunday. Schumacher chose the Bulldogs over multiple academic scholarships. The offer from Gardner-Webb was the first athletic scholarship offer he had received.
2014 Boynton Beach WR Darrian Josey verbally committed to Hawaii during his visit on Sunday, choosing the Rainbow Warriors over Western Kentucky. According to Josey, Hawaii is recruiting him as an athlete.
2014 Dwyer FB Gerald Hearns received offers from FAMU and FAU last weekend. Hearns plans to visit FAMU next weekend and FAU before signing day.
Louisville is expected to visit with 2014 Boynton Beach CB Kyron Brown and ATH Darrian Josey, a Hawaii commit, this week. Brown, who was down to Syracuse and Akron, said Syracuse may be out of the race. He has not been able to reach Syracuse coaches.
Boston College defensive coordinator Don Brown is scheduled to visit Palm Beach Central to talk to 2015 ATH Kemar Downer and 2014 ATH Rudolph St. Germain this week. Boston College is recruiting both players as defensive backs.
2014 American Heritage LB Thomas Oporto verbally committed to Jacksonville University on Tuesday.
UCF stopped by Palm Beach Gardens to offer 2014 TE Caleb Perez a preferred walk-on spot. Perez is going on an official visit to Marist this weekend and an official visit to Rutgers, which also offered him a preferred walk-on role, next weekend.
2015 Palm Beach Gardens LB Tevon Coney has offers from FAU, South Alabama and Appalachian State. Coney expects Florida coaches to visit him this week and said Alabama “will be popping in at any time.”

2014 Dwyer S Shawn Boone will get an in-home visit from NC State on Thursday. Maryland is expected to visit Boone’s home on Friday. Boone has narrowed down his list to Penn State, Arkansas and NC State.
FAU, Nebraska and Virginia Tech visited Village Academy to check on 2014 DE Kevin Bronson on Thursday morning. Bronson said Nebraska and Virginia Tech are in the lead for his services, but FAU is not out of the race because of Bronson’s good relationship with new Owls coach Charlie Partridge. Bronson expects to announce his college decision before National Signing Day, possibly on Feb. 2. Bronson is scheduled to visit USF on Friday, before taking official visits to Virginia Tech on Jan. 24 and Nebraska on Jan. 31.
FSU visited Cardinal Newman on Thursday to check in on 2014 WR Travis Rudolph, a Seminoles verbal commit.

2014 King’s Academy DB/ATH Nate Cannon was offered an opportunity to walk-on at FAU. Cannon is a dynamic athlete that impressed as a senior. According to King’s Academy coach Heath Nivens, FAU is in the lead for Cannon. Cannon wants to play D-1 football.

2014 Palm Beach Gardens TE Caleb Perez is planning to take official visits to Marist (offered) and Rutgers (offered preferred walk on) in January. In addition, Perez received an offer from Valparaiso last week.
2014 Pahokee ATH Rashaun Croney has added FAU to the list of schools he’s considering. He has narrowed down his choices to FAU, South Carolina, Arkansas and FIU. Croney said the recent hire of head coach Charlie Patridge is the reason he’s now interested in FAU.

Bronson will take an official visit to Rutgers this weekend, and he will take official visits to Virginia Tech, Nebraska and Arkansas in January. He doesn’t plan to announce his final decision until days before signing day.

2014 Dwyer WR Johnnie Dixon, who was originally scheduled to announce his decision on Nov. 30, will now make his choice public on Dec. 8. Dixon said he is between Alabama, Miami and Ohio State. He will use his final visit of the recruiting process to take a trip to Miami this upcoming weekend.
2014 Palm Beach Central OT Kc McDermott, who is verbally committed to Miami, signed a financial aid agreement which binds UM into giving him a scholarship for the first semester at school. McDermott plans to enroll in January.

2014 King’s Academy RB James Holland verbally committed to Colgate on Thursday.
2014 Cardinal Newman wide receiver Travis Rudolph took a visit to Auburn on Nov. 16 to watch the Tigers take on Georgia. According to Crusaders coach Steve Walsh, the schools that are in the race for Rudolph’s services are FSU, Alabama, Auburn and Tennessee. Florida is still in the mix, but the Gators are lagging behind.
2014 Pahokee ATH Rashuan Croney said he will decide between Arkansas, South Carolina and FIU. Croney plans to announce his decision on signing day. He is being recruited as a defensive back.
According to Dwyer coach Jack Daniels, 2014 Panthers WR Johnnie Dixon “loved” his visit to Alabama on Nov. 9 for the Crimson Tide’s game against LSU. Daniels said Alabama is “one of the leaders” for Dixon.

Preston (6-foot-2, 220 pounds) is the 13th-best prospect on the PBGametime recruiting Big Board. Glades Central grad and Mountaineers running backs coach JaJuan Seider helped recruit Preston.

2014 Glades Central ATH Jerry Jones, who is verbally committed to FAU, said the news regarding coach Carl Pelini’s abrupt resignation has forced him to think things over. “I want to talk to my family to find out what I should do,” Jones said in a text message. “But at this very moment, it’s still FAU for me.” Jones added that he has built good relationships with FAU’s assistant coaches, as he has only spoken to Pelini “once or twice” throughout the recruiting process.

2014 Dwyer WRs Johnnie Dixon and Clint Stephens will take an official visit to Tennessee on Nov. 23 for the Volunteers’ game against Vanderbilt. Dixon said his top five schools are Miami, North Carolina Sate, Alabama, Ohio State and Tennessee, adding that he will announce his decision on Nov. 30. Here is what Dwyer coach Jack Daniels had to say about where Dixon stands with recruiting: “Johnnie has always been a Hurricanes fan. Whether they were on NCAA probation or not, I don’t think it was going to affect his decision. I’ve personally always thought that Miami was Johnnie’s favorite.”

2014 Cardinal Newman WR Travis Rudolph said he is learning toward visiting Florida State and Auburn before making his final decision. Rudolph added that he will visit Alabama in December. After an unofficial visit to Tallahassee, Florida State has emerged as one of the contenders to land Rudolph. “They really weren’t in the picture until I got on campus,” he said. “When I got to campus and hung out for a day, I saw the bigger picture.”

2014 Park Vista S Marques Gayot, a Louisville commit, said he plans to Arkansas on Oct. 12 for the Razorbacks’ game against South Carolina. The original plan was for Gayot to visit Arkansas during Park Vista’s bye week on Sept. 28, but that has since changed. Gayot said he still feels solid about his commitment to Louisville.

2014 WRs Johnnie Dixon (Dwyer) and Travis Rudolph (Cardinal Newman) visited Ohio State over the weekend. The duo saw LeBron James deliver a pre-game speech to the Buckeyes before their riveting primetime victory over Wisconsin. Rudolph will visit Tennessee this coming weekend, while Dixon’s next visit is tentatively planned for November, when he’ll see Alabama.
2014 Palm Beach Lakes WR Stephen Louis is orally committed to Western Michigan, but he is still listening to other schools. Louis visited UCF over the weekend to watch the Knights take on South Carolina and he liked what he saw. “It was a great atmosphere,” Louis said. “I definitely like it out there.” He added that Minnesota and Middle Tennessee are also still showing interest in him.

According to Boynton Beach coach Rick Swain, UCF running backs coach Danny Barrett visited the Tigers’ football practice on Sept. 18 to watch junior QB Lamar Jackson, 2014 WR Kory Brown and 2014 CB Kyron Brown. Swain added that UCF is is “looking hard” at Jackson, who already has an offer from Utah State.

Rudolph reportedly scheduled an October visit to Ohio State, and Walsh said Rudolph also would like to see Vanderbilt. The speedy senior lists Alabama, Florida, FSU, Ohio State and Vanderbilt in his final five.

Gayot added that he has been attending a lot of Miami games due to the Hurricanes being his second choice. But the fact that former Miami commitments like Teddy Bridgewater decommitted and moved on to Louisville gives Gayot “something to think about.”

2014 Fort Pierce Central LB Sharieff Rhaheed enjoyed his weekend visit to Arkansas, his high school coach Josh Shaffer said. Rhaheed feels “a lot more comfort” with the coaches, and the Razorbacks have emerged as the favorite to land the linebacker. He still plans to visit Louisville with teammate Rashawn Shaw, who committed to the Cardinals this summer. Shaw is solid to the Cards, Shaffer said.

A few quick updates to post here, though not much has really changed.
Alabama, Arkansas and Ohio State have scheduled official visits for 2014 Dwyer WR Johnnie Dixon, who recently announced ‘Bama and Ohio State are the main challengers to Miami for Dixon’s services.
2014 Cardinal Newman WR Travis Rudolph announced his final five college choices on Tuesday. The list includes Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Ohio State and Vanderbilt. The biggest exclusion? Miami, which at one time recruited Rudolph as a defensive back and in recent months had returned to recruiting him as a receiver. Rudolph said his final five does not coincide with where he’ll take his official visits this fall.
FIU lost a commitment from 2014 Park Vista ATH Renard Cheren, who said recent pushes from Middle Tennessee and Northern Illinois changed his mind. FIU, Cheren said, has seemingly backed off.
West Virginia extended a scholarship offer to 2014 Village Academy DE Kevin Bronson. It’s his 26th offer. Sources say Rutgers is the clear frontrunner for Bronson, who’s also considering Arkansas, UCF and USF.
Colgate offered scholarships to 2014 Seminole Ridge RB EJ Elien and 2014 King’s Academy RB James Holland.

Sources say 2014 Cardinal Newman WR Travis Rudolph has a new team making a significant push for his commitment. FSU is making a strong run at Rudolph, who is said to be considering Ohio State, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Vanderbilt, Auburn and Alabama, with the Tide, Gators and Buckeyes looking like the favorites until FSU’s late charge.
Furthermore, sources indicate Rudolph and 2014 Dwyer WR Johnnie Dixon will head in different directions. We discussed the chances of that happening earlier this month. It now appears Rudolph, who will announce his college choice during the Under Armour All-American Game, will likely pick a different program than Dixon.

2014 Village Academy DE Kevin Bronson plans to make official visits to USF, UCF, Rutgers and Arkansas. He was offered a scholarship by Miami over the summer, but both sides appear to have cooled off in their interest.
Bronson’s teammate, 2014 WR Tre’Quan Smith, plans to make an official visit UCF this fall. He’s already committed to the Knights.
Heralded 2014 Fort Pierce Central LB Sharieff Rhaheed, once a LSU commit, had surgery to repair a fractured bone in his wrist and will miss at least the next month of the season. Read the full report. Rhaheed told reporters he plans to visit Louisville and Arkansas this fall before announcing his college decision on Oct. 18.
2014 Dwyer WR Ezra Saffold already has offers from Arkansas, Florida State, Iowa State, NC State, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan.
Northern Illinois extended an official handwritten offer to 2014 Royal Palm Beach LB Zeke Edmonds.

Highly rated 2014 Dwyer WR Johnnie Dixon is working on his fall official visit schedule. Dixon named a final two of Miami and Ohio State after The Opening camp this summer, but Alabama made a significant impression on the explosive receiver after its summer prospects camp. Dixon said he’d almost definitely make official visits to Bama and Ohio State this fall. If three other out-of-state schools make strong enough pushes, Dixon said he’ll surpass a visit to Miami to go travel away from home. Don’t fret, though, ‘Canes fans: Dixon simply said he’s seen Miami’s campus enough to feel comfortable with its pros and cons. He has no timeline set for a college decision.
Ohio State, Florida State, NC State, Arkansas and Ole Miss are after 2014 Dwyer DB Shawn Boone the hardest at this juncture. Boone also likes Tennessee and visited several campuses this summer. He’s in the process of narrowing down his school choices, and all six of those programs should expect to be there in the end.
2014 Village Academy DE Kevin Bronson visited USF over last weekend and is now focusing on football practice, which starts next week. Bronson camped at FSU and Miami this summer, and also has Rutgers, Arkansas and UCF hard after him. Bronson’s teammate, receiver Tre’Quan Smith, is already committed to UCF.
Travis Rudolph, a heralded 2014 receiver from Cardinal Newman, is trying to put together a list of official visits. His only certainly at this point is Alabama, which has been hard after the shifty senior. Rudolph, who shot up the recruiting rankings this summer, is also considering offers from Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, Oregon and Vanderbilt, among several others. A source recently said Alabama, Ohio State and Vanderbilt seemed to get a lot of Rudolph’s attention.
Louisville added 2014 Park Vista S Marques Gayot in the spring, but Gayot still plans to make a few official visits this fall. Gayot already unofficially visited Louisville’s campus this summer with his family, but will return in December with the Cardinals’ other committed prospects. He also plans to go on officials to Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee this fall.

Today is the first day of spring football practice. Several area high school coaches say college recruiters will start flocking to the Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast this month.
Cleaning up some 2013 signings: Pope John Paul II ILB Stefan Hinz signed to play for Jacksonville … Seminole Ridge OL Antonyo Woods accepted an academic scholarship to FAU and will play as a walk-on for the football team … Palm Beach Gardens DB Terrence St. Hillaire will sign with Phoenix College in Arizona.
