All-state girls hoops teams announced; 16 locals selected

Sixteen area players were selected to the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches and Source Hoops all-state teams, as chosen by the state’s coaches and high school media members.

The full statewide teams can be viewed here, but to save you time, these are the locals who made it:

Class 8A: Dwyer’s big three and two other standouts. The Panthers’ 6-foot-5, Florida State-bound post Kai James, 6-3 forward Samantha Glodis (Georgia), 6-0 junior guard Keyanna Harris were picked, along with Treasure Coast junior Rose Marie Julien, a 5-10 forward, and Crystal Primm, a 5-11 sophomore wing who played most of last year at Palm Beach Central and now attends Oxbridge Academy.

Class 7A: Lake Worth sophomore Jonika Garvin, a 6-0 scorer, and Palm Beach Lakes’ 5-7 combo guard Shanovia Dove.

Class 5A: Boynton Beach’s 5-4 sparkplug Shakoa Edwards, a junior, and Jensen Beach senior Ashley Robinson (5-9).

Class 4A: Auburn-bound forward Brandy Montgomery (6-0) of Lincoln Park and rising star Tytionia Adderly, a 5-10 freshman forward out of Cardinal Newman.

Class 3A: A pair of standout scorers. Trinity Christian senior Alicia McCray (6-0) and Benjamin junior Riley Burke (5-10).

Class 2A: Grandview Prep’s power pair of junior guard Neydja Petithomme (5-8) and post Vionise Pierre-Louis (6-4), plus Lake Worth Christian junior forward Jessica Golden (5-11).
