Santaluces 2014 WR Darrell Langham commits to Miami

By Matt Porter

Like any program, Miami wants to seek out and sign the hidden gems in its backyard. The ‘Canes are on their way to doing so with Darrell Langham.

Langham, a senior-to-be at Santaluces, committed to Miami on Sunday at a camp at the school. Langham, a 6-foot-5, 205-pound wide receiver, is another one of the blue-chip receivers in Palm Beach County this recruiting season. Langham has offers from Florida, Florida State and Arkansas, in addition to several smaller schools.

Showing solid hands and good speed for a receiver of his size, Langham caught more than 30 passes for 500-plus yards and six touchdowns. He transferred from American Heritage before his junior season.

Langham is the first wide receiver from the 2014 class to verbally commit to Miami and the 11th recruit overall. He is the second Palm Beach County prospect to announce for UM, joining Palm Beach Central offensive tackle Kc McDermott. Several other locals are interested in the ‘Canes, most notably receivers Johnnie Dixon (Dwyer) and Travis Rudolph (Cardinal Newman).
