Pope John Paul II ATH Will Jeanlys commits to Southern Methodist

By Jeff Greer

Southern Methodist officially has a pipeline in Palm Beach County.

Six months after signing American Heritage safety Darrion Richardson, the Mustangs secured a verbal commitment from Pope John Paul II receiver and safety Will Jeanlys.

Jeanlys, who will miss the 2013 high school season due to a knee injury, received SMU’s written scholarship offer last week. He anticipates in the near future a written offer from Tulane, which was the first FBS program to offer him in May.

Jeanlys (6-2, 180) led the Southeastern Football Conference in receiving in 2012, catching 24 passes for 622 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for two touchdowns.
