Hoops: Wellington F Williamson Dieudonne signs with California juco

By Jeff Greer

Wellington hoops now has a third Class of 2013 player headed off to play in college.

Williamson Dieudonne, a 6-foot-6, 235-pound forward, signed with West Hills Community College, a juco program in Coalinga, Calif.

Name doesn’t sound familiar? Dieudonne never played high school hoops at Wellington, but he did attend classes and received his GED.

“Williamson is a guy who didn’t get this opportunity the traditional way but worked real hard to put himself in a position to obtain his high school diploma and become recruitable,” said Wellington coach Matt Colin. “He’s got the size and strength that you want in a college player but he can also play multiple position due to his skill level. This is his second chance at playing basketball and achieving his dreams.”

West Hills College plays in the Central Valley Conference, one of the top juco conferences in California. Dieudonne joins Wellington classmate Stephon Gordon and Summit Christian grad Lanville Lewis at West Hills.
