Keith Olbermann’s new ESPN show debuts with ratings lower than Dwyer-Glades Central

The highly anticipated new Keith Olbermann show on ESPN debuted with ratings lower than the Dwyer-Glades Central season opener back in 2011.

Olbermann’s new show, titled “Olbermann,” rated a 0.36 for its first show, which aired from 11 p.m. to midnight on Monday. Sports Business Journal’s John Ourand tweeted the first two ratings numbers for Olbermann’s show, with Tuesday’s episode drawing a 0.22.

On Labor Day in 2011, Glades Central hosted Dwyer in the first nationally broadcast football game on Palm Beach County soil. That game, with more than 10,000 fans in attendance, drew a 0.4 rating on ESPN with an average of more than 461,000 viewers . Glades Central rallied from behind in the second half and won 24-10, with former standout Will Likely registering the top plays on SportsCenter that night.

That just goes to show how far high school football has come in recent years. Olbermann’s show, by the way, is worth the watch.
