In this week’s version of “The Best Performance of the Week,” one player’s stat line stood out to us. PBGametime chose Palm Beach Lakes wide receiver Stephen Louis, who is orally committed to Western Michigan. The senior carried the Rams (2-2) to a victory over Atlantic on Friday.
Here is a breakdown of what Louis did to earn the award:
Stephen Louis, Palm Beach Lakes, WR:
The performance: The wide receiver recorded 222 total yards and four touchdowns against Atlantic. Two of the scores came on the ground, as Louis ran for 106 yards on just six carries. The other two touchdowns came through the air. Louis finished the contest with eight catches for 116 yards. One of the senior’s four scores came on the last play of the first half, when he caught a short pass and turned it into a 43-yard touchdown catch. Louis’ other three touchdowns came in the second half to cement the victory.
In the player’s words: “I woke up feeling good,” Louis said. “I definitely wanted to make up for our loss to Dwyer. I felt like if I had a good game it would lead us to a win. That was definitely my best performance so far, but I think I’m going to have even better performances this season.”
“The play before halftime was my favorite touchdown out of all of them,” Louis said. “I couldn’t even believe it. I pretty much sat on a dude’s stomach because he tried to tackle me and spin me around, but I got up and ran it in. Nobody could believe it.”
