Ask Me Anything: What’s up with John I. Leonard? Who wins, Spider-Man or Batman?

By Jeff Greer

Ready for another version of Ask Me Anything? Here, I answer questions on high school football, recruiting and any other topic you guys chose.

The same teams keep popping up in the questions. This week we’ll handle John I. Leonard and Royal Palm Beach. I also got a few questions about Spider-Man, Alien and more.

The goal is to make this a weekly thing. Send me your questions for next week via Twitter, Facebook, email or in the comment section here.

We’re starting off the seventh edition of Ask Me Anything with a John I. Leonard question.

#1fan: Jeff, can you tell me what’s going on Tavares Martin at John I Leonard this year?

Jeff Greer: Leonard has a lot of issues. The offense doesn’t have a leader. They put Martin at quarterback to try and find that spark, but that’s not his position. As good and athletic as he is, that’s a lot to ask a quiet kid like Tavares. But Leonard’s biggest problem is on defense. The Lancers can’t stop anyone. Look at these point totals: 27, 45, 27, 7, 38, 34. The seven came against Spanish River. Those are tough numbers. It’s a confluence of everything. And at this point, it’s officially a lost season in Greenacres.

Shea: Spider-Man and Batman have a confrontation on the roof. Who wins?

JG: You serious? Batman. Not even close. Spider-Man spells his name so weird.

RPB: If Royal Palm Beach goes to the playoffs, how far do you think they will go?

JG: Gotta get there first. RPB should blow out Atlantic, Forest Hill, Olympic Heights and Palm Beach Lakes. Should. Will they? That’s a whole other question. Assuming the Wildcats take care of business, they still need West Boca’s help. The Bulls will lose to Dwyer, but where does the other loss come from? It’s not ideal to be hoping for some help.

Quinn: Could the alien from Alien take down a Jurassic Park T-Rex? What about the predator?

JG: Lots of hypothetical movie fights this week. A T-Rex is 13 feet at its hips and 40-feet long, according to Wikipedia, America’s encyclopedia. The alien in Alien stands about 8 feet. This one goes the way of the raptor-T-Rex fight at the end of JP1. I’ll take T-Rex against predator, too.

James: Who has the BEST CHICKEN AND WAFFLES in the COUNTY?

JG: I’ve only had Bay Bay’s. I only need Bay Bay’s.

Seymour: In the 80s, people would’ve thought the idea of Arnold being California governor absurd. Who is the equivalent now (and future governor of California in 2024)?

JG: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Next question.
