Football: Royal Palm Beach QB Toddy Centeio still nursing ankle injury

By Anthony Chiang

For the second straight week, Royal Palm Beach quarterback Toddy Centeio’s status is in question.

The freshman suffered an ankle injury in the Wildcats’ victory over Lake Worth on Sept. 27, forcing him to miss Royal Palm Beach’s 40-14 loss to Dwyer last week. The injury is still bothering Centeio, as he is in danger of missing this week’s critical district contest against Atlantic on Friday.

Wildcats coach Willie Bueno said Centeio was able to practice Tuesday, but added that he was still uncertain if the signal-caller would take the field against the Eagles. In last week’s game against Dwyer, Jimmy Moreland and third-stringer Josh Carr filled in for Centeio.

Before injuring his ankle against Lake Worth, Centeio was in the middle of his best performance of the season. He threw for a touchdown and ran for two more scores before leaving the game because of the injury in the second half.
