The games keep getting bigger as the postseason creeps closer and closer. One player stepped up in the Week 7 spotlight to earn our weekly award, which is handed out to the football player that turns in the most impressive individual stat line. The PBGametime staff chose Park Vista quarterback Qwad Martin to earn “The Best Performance of the Week,” leading the Cobras (5-1) to a big victory over Jupiter.
Qwad Martin, Park Vista, QB:
The performance: The senior signal-caller completed 10 of his 13 passes against Jupiter, throwing for 232 yards and four touchdowns. Martin also ran for a score. Three of Martin’s four touchdown passes went for longer than 25 yards. His longest touchdown pass of the contest came on a 41-yard pass to Anthony Milanese.
Season stats: Martin has thrown for 868 yards, 10 touchdowns and four interceptions in six games this season. He has also run for 328 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 6.6 yards per carry.
In the coach’s words: “We’ve been waiting for this performance from Qwad,” Park Vista coach Brian Dodds said. “He’s been close, but it all came together. His progress has been special.”
