Dwyer’s star wide receiver has already missed the Panthers’ past two games with the injury. Stephens could sit out his third straight game Friday, when the Panthers travel to take on Lake Worth. The senior was limited in Tuesday’s practice, forcing coach Jack Daniels to list Stephens as questionable for this week’s contest.

“It was a bad sprain,” Daniels said. “I think he’s on track, but there is just no need to rush him back.”

The original diagnosis had Stephens missing two games, which would put him back on the field this week. But with a 7-0 record and plenty of talent on the roster, Daniels is taking a cautious approach.

Before the injury, Stephens had recorded 16 catches for 278 yards and five touchdowns in five games.
