QB Rashaun Croney, RB McArthur Bernett to miss Pahokee’s first-round game

By Anthony Chiang

Pahokee will be without two key players in today’s first-round game against Miami-Westminster Christian.

According to Blue Devils quarterback Rashuan Croney, he will miss the contest because of a concussion he suffered against Glades Central in Saturday’s Muck Bowl. Pahokee running back McArthur Bernett will also miss the game because of a knee injury he suffered against King’s Academy on Nov. 1. Bernett did not play in the Muck Bowl because of the same injury.

“I haven’t met all my standards for today’s game,” Croney said.

Croney and Bernett have been important contributors to a Pahokee offense that scored 24 points per game in the regular season. Junior Kennard Davis will likely start for Croney under center, and senior Jay Hopson is expected to start at running back in place of Bernett.
